I see pictures of your bikes an they look awesome! I've got sludge and crud under the bike and in the engine fins. Is there something I can spray on the bike that will eat through it but is also safe on rubber and electronics? Thanks.
I go to Walmart and buy the carb cleaner (about $1.50 per can) and when mine starts getting ugly on the bottom,I put a drip pan under it and spray it down with carb cleaner and then fire up the air compressor and blow off the crap. I am lazy when it comes to scrubbing and found this to be he answer for me.
I do the carb cleaner trick sometimes too. Generally in between Simple Green degreasing. I only use the Simple Green on the engine, trans, and primary. Spray with water from hose, spray Simple Green liberally, and this is the critical part, wash off with hose water in 2-3 minutes. Simple Green can damage stuff if it's left on too long. I only do this once or twice a year and I ride year round.
Then I go ahead and spray off the rest of the bike with water unless I'm going for the ultra super wash with soap, then rinse and chamois dry.
Hey, Best stuff i used was S100 cleaner, comes in a 1l bottle, spray on agitate with a med brush add a little water do the brush bit again rinse off , blow dry , add a bit off s100 enjin brightener and hey presto.
if you are a bit worried about the electrics and grease points etc you might wasnt to try a sealer first, spray around engine etc parts, leave an hour to dry.....then start washing as above, the residue of the sealer will stay around the terminals etc if you dont go at those areas to hard with the brush.
Hope this helps
wait till i take it to the dealer for something and they wash it. i am not one to clean engines or wheels. the only time the bike gets dirty is when i am in the rain
I try not to get mine dirty. Wish I had more time to ride it and then I wouldn't care about how dirty it was. It might not run good if you wash all the grease and dirt off.
