Dumb question...RIGHT and LEFT

Dumb question...RIGHT and LEFT
I am considering the Roadlok Defender for my RKC. They sell right and left. I want the one for the right side as I am sitting on it - is that the right side or is the side determined as you look at the bike from the front?
Also, does anyone know if the roadlok wraps around the rotor so that when the pin is engaged, the pin inserts into a hole of the lock body on the other side of the rotor? Otherwise, wouldn't be easy to just remove the bolts that hold it and the caliper on and remove the lock body? I must be missing something here...can't be that easy...another dumb question.
