Like I said I owned a street glide and thought it was a great bike, but they are every where. It didn't matter how much money I dumped into the bike, it was still a street glide. Again there wasn't anything wrong with the bike I loved it. I just wanted to get rid of it while I could still get a fair price for it. With anything once the market becomes flooded with something the value of it will eventually drop. This was not ment to be personal. The looks of the road glide grew on me. I like the looks of the low windshield as I did on the street glide. Again just my personal opinion. I had wind from the street glide which didn't bother me, but the wind from the road glide at highway speed was horrible. I was just wondering if anyone owned a road glide who was about 5'7" and had a lower windshield from klock works etc or lower fairings and if any combination helped. I don't mind some wind. I just like to breath when riding.
not to hijack your thread, but make it your own... its kind of hard to have something that someone else doesnt have or hasnt had, so just make it your own
PUT LOWERS AND THE RIGHT WINSHIELD ON IT ...and will blow away anything else Harley makes !!!!
I hope you're right. My color-matched lowers are due to arrive Monday and I have the 8.5" KW screen. I was thinking the new J&M speakers were no better than the stockers until bent down at speed. The updraft turbulence from my legs is something else. Getting a C&C seat which will set me a little lower too. My fingers are crossed.

Is the kw windshield any better then the stock windshield at highway speeds?
If your doing a lot of highway running, the CV is about the best your going to get IMHO. Not as sexy as the KW or Cee, but it's the best for that application.
More and more threads about the RG shield poppin up. Kinda like the bike itself more and more of them on the road. The RG needs tuned to be it's best for each rider. See another thread on same subject for more info, imho. And yes some folks think their fugly but what do you want form or function?

iam not sure how tall you are , but you may have to rethink that 8" k.w. i know iam 6'5" and with my clearview i dont get ENOUGH air when its hot out..so i know from experience its possble to get rid ofthe air unless you are bigger than me.

I've found the opposite to be true (around here) The Street Glides, and Road Kings are fairly common... but popular... used SG & RK's go for a pretty penny, while the RG's usually start at a lower price, and sell for less.
Works great for a cheap bastard like ME.... when I buy a used bike..... and when I'm done with a bike... KBB trade in, is more than I could expect to sell my bike. (Buyers seem to freak, when faced with a 6 digit odometer....)

It is the same in my area. Book value on a Road Glide is a $1000 less then a street glide. I had alot of money in my street glide and I kept on seeing more and more of them. I had the chance to sell it for a fair price so I did. The way I looked at it was comparing it to the mass production Harley had the past couple of years with their bikes. Years ago when you purchased a new bike you got what ever color came in next. Today you can buy a bike for less then msrp. I was worried that street glides my start declining in price, plus mine was a 2008. The new frames are a big improvement. I am still considering another street glide. Possibly one that someone else has added extras to.
