Are you talking about the cans? If so, you'll have to remove your outer fairing, light bar, wheel, fender and forks...then it's a piece of cake.

Yea if your talking about the cowbells your gonna have to disassemble the front forks which in my opinion would be a pain in the *** just to switch them. I had mine done when I put chrome lowers on.

Yes, I am referring to the cowbells. The dealer wants 4 hours of labor at $80/hour, OUCH! I can't see shelling out that kind of dough for a $70 part.

You are right about the 4 hrs. labor the dealer wants. My HD dealer wanted the same at $75.00 a hr.

Here are some pics I took with I installed a lowering kit on the front of an 08 SG. The only special tool was a 36mm wrench. Most new touring bikes have one in there tool kit. I would also suggest changing out the folk oil while you are at it.

Bert,

The pics look great. Did you do everything yourself or did you have a second pair of hands helping out?

I did the disassembly and assembly myself. I had my indy install the folk springs into the lower legs, which you will not be doing. The service manual is very helpful. Here's the instruction sheet for installing the Upper Fork Slider Covers if you don't have the service manual.

I went to a local indy. He told me $200 plus the oil to change my black forks out to all chrome.
