I installed mine today as well. I had the Klockwerks 6.5" but I could not use the Fairing Mount with the Zumo 660. The H-D windshield solves atleast this issue for me. I'll be out on a ride tomorrow to see how it compares.
Bit the bullet and went and picked one up. Looks good to me. Wish it was a shade darker. Rode with it for a bit and it seems to cut down on buffeting for me.
I am 6'00" and it seems to deflect the wind up and over my head.
Took mine out today. In a nut shell, the Klock Werks 6.5" windscreen seems to work a bit better than the H-D Wind Splitter. The Klock Werks seems to throw the air a bit higher over the rider. This really does not bother me too much as I tend to ride slouched so it works OK for me.
I do like the styling of the H-D Wind Splitter, it seems to compliment the lines of the fairing.... and the big reason for me as to why I bought it, it will work with a fairing mounted Zumo 660.
I just ordered the Road Glide version and should have it on and installed by this Saturday. I'll post a few pics once I receive it. I currently ride with a +1" Clearview which works good but lacks styling. Figured summer is the time to try something new up front.
I've had the windsplitter on for 3k miles. I recently tested the klockwerks on the interstate and put mine back on. For my height/seating position the Klockwerks put way too much wind into my ears. The windsplitter creates a wider bubble and is much more comfortable for me.
Had the KW on my Ultra now have the WS on my new Road Glide. I know it's apples and oranges because of two different fairings but I like the looks and how the WS works on the new bike. They both gave some windnoise under certain conditions. I almost always wear ear plugs and wear a full helmet on any kind of trip or when it is cool. My pillion commented that she noticed the wind on our 50 mile highway run to OBW in Sandusky the other day but the wind was blowing pretty good. I think the WS is a good compromise for decent wind protection and looks. Just my 2 cents.
