Well i got the socket today and used a propane torch to heat it.Ha Ha HA there is no reason something needs to be that tight.tommorrow im using the big heat then a breaker bar wish me luck. guess i need new seals with that heat.
I had to heat mine up to get it loose and found out after it was all togather that the tranny seal got too hot. Leaked bad! But it was easier the second time.
Ok i just called my dealer and he said they dont make a 135 tooth belt from harley,so what kind of belt did you use,My stock is 137 teeth and i need a 135 ?????? They do have a 136 tooth belt will that work.
Is the sprocket 2 teeth less than the stock one? When I changed mine I bought the HD Japan model belt, fit fine. The part number is in the book. I dont have it right now, maybe someone else has access to it. I will post it later if you want
I thought a 136 tooth belt would work, and the pulley is andrews 30 tooth, someone said the panther belts that drag spec. sales are not as strong as harley belts thats why i wanted one. Today i put some heat on the pulley nut and it came right off
Just wondering if anyone can tell me if changing the transmission sprocket from a stock one to a 29 or 30 tooth would gear my 2007 Street Glide down(96 CI with a 6 sp). Also, would this be a signifigant change or does anyone know another way to lower the gear ratio on one of these bikes?

You can run a 68t wheel pulley from a 07-newer Sportster, and the 30t tri glide trans pulley, and keep your stock belt. (If you just change the trans pulley, you'll probably have to change the drive belt.) Will give you a final drive of about 3.07. Lots better than the stock 2.79 on the 07-08 bikes.

If I am not mistaken and have been told by numerous people it is probably one of the best mods that can be done. If I am not mistaken stock is 32 you will want to go to 30. Not sure about your belt. Good luck with your decision.
