Very confused. I have 09 FLHTCU with Vance Hines Power Duals and Monster Ovals. The figures given on VH web site where used and the fuel\Air mixture ran at 17:1 ! Of course, that is way too lean and dangerous as well. The HD dealer fiddle with the settings and used SE muffler settings to bring the fuel mixture back to 14:1 ratio and the bike runs fine now. The question is; why use the Fuelpak at all? Can one just have the bike dyno tuned. Another issue, was when I called VH representative about the lean fuel mixture problem and told them we had used the SE settings he said, " Use whatever works" HELLO! use whatever works! If I pull the Fuelpak and have the bike dyno tuned one would not need a after market fuel mixture unit on the bike I am assuming...right? Am I missing something here or are we all be sold a bill of goods on the fuel mixture units.

Yes they do work but you pay a price in the end. The add on fuel management systems offer a quick and cheap way to get you on the road with a stage one or any other light engine mod. The disadvantage is these units are just taking into consideration the engine temp, throttle position, and TMAP sensor to make an educated guess how much fuel they need to deliver, this would be sufficient enough for a guess but i want all the sensors working to achieve max performance, and i never go to the gun range with a blindfold so i dont like guessing. These add-on systems can not self-adjust for environmental factors such as temperature and altitude, they are operated by throttle and load factors. Other add-ons just trick the O2 sensors by reducing the voltage signals. So in the end you loose fuel economy, reliability, and sometimes longevity. The best way is the have the EEPROM reprogrammed after a dyno session to get the best performance out of YOUR bike with YOUR setup this way you are using all the sensors that the bike came with all the time to really fine tune your machine. You can either pay now or pay later. There is no one size fits all map. For example one PCV map may be too lean for one bike and the too rich for another.

By changing those Mode Values, it's a crap shoot that could do more harm then good.
I can't believe V & H told you use whatever works knowing that the settings listed for your bike and equipment on the Fual Pak site are correct for proper fuel/air mixture.
I'm running the fuel pak but if I didn't get the deal that I got, I would have gotten the PCV.
I'm no expert, but I would think the fuelpak and O2 sensors probably don't work well together. I have a fuelpak on my 06 and it works well but I don't have any pain in the azz sensors. That's one reason I'm in no hurry to buy a newer bike. I think the people who have the best results disable the sensors in some way.
I had a FP on my 09 FLHT and it ran real well. I really can't believe the 17:1 AFR tho. The Fuel Pak piggy backs the stock ECU and ADDS fuel above/beyond what the stock ECU is set for. I think something was amiss ???
I recently put a FP on my 09 FLTR and it seems to run fine. I'll be going for a long ride today (65*) and will post results later today.

Put down 200 miles yesterday (67* and sunny). The V&H FuelPak seemed to work just fine. The pipes didn't feel too hot, acceleration was great, no popping on deceleration. Stopped several times and bike started right up. I guess I can't offer any 'cons' on the fuelpak system. I give it a two-thumbs up!
I had a V&H FP on my 2007 FLHX. It never really ran quite right even though i continued to fiddle with the settings. I tossed the FP and got a PC5 from the guys at fuel moto. Night and day difference throughout the entire rpm range. Bike ran cooler and had better pull off of the bottom.

You say the bike never really ran right, what exactly was wrong with its performance?
If I had an extra $312 laying around, I would buy the PCV and do a comparison test but I'm not General Motors and cannot get a government bailout, so I have to be content with my Fuel Pak for awhile.
I though I was having issues with it last week but the cold weather was making the bike run rich. Took it out yesterday (warmer) and the bike performed great.
