Default Cruise control switch substitute

Can anyone here tell me if there is a toggle switch available that I can put in the headlight nacelle hole to replace the set/resume switch on my cruise control. Can't get any wires down the bars and I want it to be hidden. A wiring schematic of the switch would also be helpful. There are four wires on the old switch. If this is not possible let me know. Thanks in advance.

Interesting project. According to my 2004 HD Service Manual's wiring diagrams, the RK Classic uses switches on both handlebars to control the cruise control. The wires for cruise control go directly from the handlebars to the cruise control module. The wire colors and their assignments are: Blue/black is set/coast; white/blue is resume/accel; and, red/green is on/off.

Those wire colors and assignments are the same used at the cruise control module on '04 fairing models. Only the red/green wire is in the fairing cap switch; the other two would be in the right side handlebar switch wiring on your RG.

Of course, the fairing models use an interconnect harness between these switches and the cruise module; there is no interconnect harness on the RK.

You are far more adventurous than me to undertake the project without the Service Manual. Good luck with your project.

Carl
