first ride

well talked the wife into going for a first short little ride of the season went about 30 miles and the dip stick blew out of the motor , oil on wifes paints and new santa clause boot , wife not happy , have to share house with dog now

PS don't worry got crome cleaned off as soon as I got home

what caused your oil dipstick to pop out while riding???

bike is OK , dog don't want to share have to go buy wife something [ maybe a nice piece of Harley jewelry or just a nice T ShIRT ] did find my oil is way over full , probably a qt or so , I do know its gas, oil is very thin just do not know how it got there , either a bad injector but it dose run good or maybe starting it a few times in the winter and not getting it warmed up or could be the way I am starting it , if it stalls when I start it sometimes I turn it off and recycle fuel system [ EFI ] any ides

Do you have oil in your air cleaner too? This is a sign that the crankcase is overfilled.

Overfull with oil. Same thing happened to an 89 Sporty I was working on. I thought I drained all the oil out but it was at least a quart over. The dipstick shot out like a rocket in my garage. What a mess.
