Default Adding cruise control

The FLHT is prewired for cruise control. How handy is cruise control? More convenient than the throttle lock? Will the cruise improve gas mileage? Any input is appreciated.

Get the cruise and forget about that throttle lock! Its pretty sweet esp the resume function. Not 100% sure about the gas mileage but i would imagine so,if its set at a cruise speed and in fifth gear.

The thing that makes the cruise more convenient than the throttle lock is that it holds your speed. Even with the lock, I find myself reaching up and making adjustments to account for up/down slopes on the road.

I just ordered my Cruise Control from Benjy's for $270. Call and ask for Jenni. She's awesome. I should have it by Friday.

When I rented an Ultra 3 years ago it had cruise and saved alot of fatigue on my right hand. Especially on those long interstate stretches. So I ordered cruise when I bought my EG Classic. Only it has not worked from day one. At first they thought it was a defective cable. Just intalled that, and no good. Now the tech says they are just going to replace the whole unit as they can't figure out why they can't get it to work. I sure hope they can because next Monday we're leaving for Shenandoah . I can manage without cruise if I have to, but I'd much rather have it. Makes a big difference on long rides. Deffinately worth it.

previous owner of my 03 FLHTC/I had cruise added. Nothing better than getting on the super slab, setting the cruise, sliding in a good CD of traveling music, put the feet on the Hiway pegs, lean back against the back rest and eat up miles. Don't want no CB or intercom.

Was your SG prewired for the CC? Did you buy your from the dealed or get it after market? How hard was it to install on your SG?

After having it I would never have a bike without it.
