What everyone else said. Its worth the money and pretty easy to install as I believe all touring bikes are prewired for it. I installed it on my 06 Road King custom in about 3 hours. I second what jmxp said about Jenny at Benjy's HD. Great person to order from and I have always got my stuff fast.
We have an 02 RK, does anyone know if it is prewired? We also have the clutch bracket, master cylinder and switch housing chromed. Does that mean I'd have to buy new to accomodate the cruise?

RE: Adding cruise control
ORIGINAL: 77Tulsa
Added it on to my cop bike along with all the other bells and whistles the ultra has and it truely is the sweetest thing since sliced bread!![sm=groupwave.gif]
What was involved? I checked the HD website, they list part #77182-02 (Fits '02-'03 FLHT), and part #77196-04 (Fits '04-'06 FLHT), but nothing for earlier models like your '99, or my '00.
Just one side, though, right, Sleep? The left side, I believe? Where do I get one?
No, both sides. The left side is the on/off switch, the right is the set/accell switch,or at least it is on my 06 RK. You would probably have to take them apart and have them chromed yourself.
The cop bike will need a new inter-connect harness or some wiring added to the existing plugs. Get the the manual and see if your cop bike has the pins in the plugs in the proper location for the cruise. I don't think there is much difference in the cruise kits. The only bike that comes with the main harness from the side cover to the front is The ultra. The harness is part of the kit though.
