We have an 02 RK, does anyone know if it is prewired? We also have the clutch bracket, master cylinder and switch housing chromed. Does that mean I'd have to buy new to accomodate the cruise?
Yup.

I to would like to see what I'm getting myself into. Do you need a shop manual or are the instructions pretty detailed? I just ordered mine tonight from Chicago H-D and hope it gets here in time for me to put it in before next Friday when I leave town.

Anybody want to come over and have a few cold ones while "WE" put it on?

Put down the crack pipe boys!!!

It's crap! You swing into corners faster than you want too, and then have to hit the brakes. You are supposed to speed out of corners, not into corners. It's slow response speeding up, and therefor you are always off your buddies natural pace.

Adjust your throttle cables so that you are more free with your response time for speed adjustments, and it's easier on the wrist.

Crap, Crap, Crap. Don't waste your money.

Oh, and did I say it was crap and a waste of money?

Interesting.. the first person I think I have seen that didn't like CC

I have a different perspective I guess.. I don't know of a case where the roads on which I would engage the cruise control would require me to brake for a corner..

Coming back from San Fran earlier this year I can tell you that I was on cruise 75% of the time (After we hit I-5)

As for the natural pace of your buddy... Since I have cruise on my bike.. I set pace for the group

I guess i just ride more curves than you. I had it on my Goldwings, and now on the Ultra, and I found it just too relaxing, and I screwed up. So I had to hit the brakes harder than I wanted on corners, and too boring on straightaways. IMO, spend the money on Cams, Chrome, Beer or anything else but a electronic device that sets your speed in life to a constant.

Oh by the way, your buddies that follow a regulated speed bike are pussies! I would challenge you to a little race, or show once in a while.

Here's an idea. how about disingaging your cruise BEFORE you enter a corner? I have cruise on every one of my vehicles and find that I keep the speed I want, therfore being able to keep my eyes on the road and not having to worry about if I'm speeding or going to slow for others. IMHO

As far as keeping my buddies pace, what is to keep you from twisting the throttle a little when needed? It's not "Auto Pilot", it cruise control.

It's a motorcycle. I would not spend one cent on this as an addition to my ride. If you want mine for free you can have it.

To each his own I guess. I think the cruise is one of the best upgrades I've done. Nothing like it when pounding out miles on the big slab! [sm=biker.gif]
