Default Squeaky front brakes on a RK Custom?

Any of you RK Custom owners out there had issues with squeaky front brakes? Mine only squeak when applying medium pressure as the wheels are coming to a stop. I've read some reports that all Harley brakes squeak, but thought I'd get some opinions from around here. My friend's Classic also squeaks (a little worse, too I must say), so it may not be limited to RK Customs or RKs in general.

Thanks,

I champ-round off- the pads every time I install them .

this allows for the break dust to escape and eliminates the squeak. good quality pads make a big difference, perhaps clean the disks with a spray on break cleaner.

A buddy of mine has the same problem with his 05 RK.We bought him a set of floating rotors to try and fix the problem. I'll have to contact him and see if he got the conversion done, pretty sure the the rorors came off an 08 SG. Alot of riders seem think its the rotors.

I had this problem on my 07 (has same brakes). Under warranty, one of the fixes was to swap the left rotor for the right rotor so the rotors are turning backwards. It's my understanding, the harmonics are different turning in the different direction. All I know is the horrendous noise that was there is now completely gone.

Went to the Harley dealership on Saturday and had them swap the left and right front rotors. Now it only squeals in reverse. What a strange design "feature". Hopefully, that'll be the last of the frieght train squealing during braking.
