If you are going to replace the bell, go with the SE Compensator. It comes with the bell and not very expensive. I don't have either part numbers handy and no time right now to look for them.

Any chance you can rotate your motor 1/2 turn and try again?

I have turned about every way I could. If it is just the magnets I guess I am weaker than I thought.

STOP STOP In order to remove the stator you should use the correct tool. It is a puller that connects to the 2 holes in the cover. once remove you need a plastic cone that fits on the shaft and keeps the stator straight while you are installing it. You don't have to listen to me, but if you don't you will "chip" the magnets and the loose pcs will ground out the stator causing it to fail. The puller and cone, sorry I don't have the part number is about 175.00 when I bought mine about 4 years ago from a "friendly" dealership. My advise, trailer the bike to the dealership a part, have them remove and replace, pay them 1/2 hr labor, then finish the job at home. There is NO safe way to do this without the cone.

Be Safe JIM

I just got back from the dealer. They only charged 1/2 hour of labor and it took about and hour to get it off. I had magnets that were broke and making it bind . There are no special tools needed for the 07 and newer.

Using an impact gun on the compensator nut, can cause the magnets to break loose.
(not saying you did that).

Glad you got it off!

Just curious, what did the replacement cost you?
