Thank GOD you are OK. I also want to thank you for sharing this story with all of us. Something tells me a lot of us will be checking our riding gear, I know I will.
Thanks for all the kind words. Its been 5 days now and I still feel like its all a dream.
As for pictures of the gear I will try and do that tonight, its all sitting in a corner of my house. I have not even taken a look at it too much.
The tire was a Metzeler ME 880 MT90B-16, as for the age of the tire not sure. When I went to the guy who sold it to me (Won't say the name of his garage until I know if he was at fault or not.) I don't want to throw him under a bus with out knowing he was at fault. He was pretty upset/emotional that I went down.
I must state that GEICO is a great insurance company, they have been on top of things from the moment I called. The Claims person has called me twice just to see how I am doing etc., the adjuster and I will go look at the bike tomorrrow. I was trying to get a friend to go get it, and the claims department said "oh know thats what you pay your premium for, we have already made arrangements to go get it and take it to the shop of your choice.
Someone asked me if the pressure was low, I can honestly state that I had it checked prior to leaving for the ride, and it seem to ride ok, so I dont think it was low. As for the person who commented on me pulling over to check the bike, that is what I was attempting to do when I went down.
Again thanks, and once I have the details regarding the tire I will let you know.
Thanks again and much love to my fellow riders... Be safe...

Awesome story, glad to hear you are ok. You just have to love them nurses that stop and help. I crashed in Nov and when I woke up in the street there was a lovely nurse right next to me telling me not to move. My pelvis, hip and back were broken...next thing I remember I was in the ambulance. I'd hate to think what would have happened without that nurse. They really are remarkable people. I hope you get to ride again soon. God is great indeed.
Damn thank god your fine it just wasn't your time yet but i see it all the time on crouch rockets with 2 people riding and there girlfirend has sandles and a mini skirt on giving everybody a peep show , and i am thinkng man if you go down i have 1 word for you cheese grater.
But i am glad your ok ride safe man.
