In my 38 years of riding went down on my 1995 suzuki intruder 1400 a van made a left in front of me then just stupped was going abut 45mph i hit the back brakes trying to power slide around him but when iwent to turn the front wheel because of the drag bars i had on the front tire just dug in catapulting me over the top of the van I came crashing down on the other side seperated shoulder and many bumps and bruises but like you i was wearing red wing boots heavy denim pants and a full face helmet only becausr it was freezing that morning. Big gash on the side of my helmet when it bounced off the ground God was with me that day. Glad your ok
Glad you're ok. Hindsight is 20/20 of course but you probably shoulda called a wrecker or buddy with a trailer the first sign the bike wasn't handling right. She was trying to tell you something. Going down is a b**ch for sure.
Your story gave me the chills. I ride with a "novelty" helmet, and its time for me to get a "real" helmet. Been thinking about it for awhile, and because of you I'm switching. To have the presence of mind to make yourself roll out of the way while you had to be in shock is amazing. Glad it turned out OK. God Bless.
