Seems I've got a broken floorboard mount on the driver's left side. Just happened to notice it floppin' around, then looked to see the cast iron mounting bracket had broken where it bolts to the frame.
The dealer wants $50 for a new one... I was hoping someone may have an OEM one laying around that may have got swapped out for chrome. Otherwise, you think a welding shop could repair it? It' under the bike, so it wouldn't be too noticable. A little black paint and you'd probably never see it.
The mount is cast iron as far as I can tell. Welding will require a real welder that can do cast iron. The weld will need to actually be a fill in and redrill. That may cost more than $50. Check for HD salvage yards, that will be cheaper.
