for the guys running 13" Apes, does the fairing still block the wind on your hands or are they now out in the airstream? I have considered apes, heard they are great for ceasing low back pain.

I have one valid question, as I've never rode with apes...

Can the bike owner's with apes on their bikes do figure 8's in the box?

Just wondering if those ape hangers affect maneuverability and handling under extreme conditions...

Apes (16" or higher) are not for the average or timid rider.. You gotta have some type of attitude and swagger about yourself to rock the apes on a big hog. JMO!!

From the looks of your pics, the apes certainly doesn't seem to affect maneuverability... this answers my question - thanks!

Any style of handlebar is a matter of personal taste/comfort to the individual rider. For me, and as others have replied, apes fall into my comfort window. The cool factor is just an added bonus.

Bat wings have way more comfortable stock bars but my Road Glide stockers never impressed me. I think that your seeing a new era in the bar manufacturing . There are more mini apes to chose from and to me that's a good thing. I went with Yaffe 10" monkey's on mine and I love it. It's not all about attitude for me it's comfort. If you like what you have riding 200 miles or more then a change is not needed but the sport bike days are over for me. A fat seat and some semi tall bars is like peein off the porch on a summer night.
