+1 on the PY Monkey Bars, Tom. The stock bars on my RoadGlide would numb my hands/wrists even on shorter rides. Monkey Bars have been the best mod I've made to my bike. Super comfortable and look great...especially on a RG.
I'm considering the 10" Monkey bars for a 2009 CVO RG- thing is, they don't look like they have much pull back, yet I never hear anyone complain about a lack of pullback-for those that have them on a RG, do you find the pullback similar to stock? Any problems with their pullback?

I'm not sure what the pullback is on stock RG bars, but the pullback for the 10" PY Monkey Bars is 6 inches. It fits me perfect, but then again, I'm 6'2" and have monkey arms.
Can apes be added without having to replace the brake line, clutch cable, wiring and whatever else is unforeseen? Say 10 or 13
Skyclimber, I'm sure someone who's put apes on their EG will chime in soon to confirm. From what I've read, you can get away without having to change out brake line, clutch cable and wiring with 10" bars. Anything taller will likely necessitate replacement/lengthening. I have 10" Monkey Bars on my RG and all the stock lengths worked.
for the guys running 13" Apes, does the fairing still block the wind on your hands or are they now out in the airstream? I have considered apes, heard they are great for ceasing low back pain.
With 13" apes the fairing does redirect most of the wind but not all of it. It is not like riding without a fairing.
ahh.....don't be scared. I would have never thought about apes but the fine folks on this forum that like to post their bada$$ pics of apes convinced me. It is great
Funny, the people around me that dont ride say i look uncomfortable with my apes. I myself think that people sportin apes dont look comfy....but the truth is exactly opposite....WAY MORE COMFORTABLE!!!!
