I resently wrapped my headers in exhaust wrap. Some one told me that wrapping the headers is the equilelant of some mild head work or cams. Now I have a PCIII and SE203s. Is this true, becuase if it is I need a new map. Please help. Thanks.

Yeah, I didnt think they would change the effect or performance. Just heat. Yeah, I know they will rust over time. They were a cheap set of used headers until I can save enough coin to get what I really want!

That was suppose to be what exhaust wrap did, but in reality what people have found out over the years that instead of trapping the heat inside the pipe which causes the exhaust to travel faster, it really causes a super hot area around the pipe that actually draws heat out of the pipe and causes the exhaust gases to slow down.
So what you end up with is less performance, a lot more heat on your leg and it torches your exhaust pipe from excessive heat.
If you ceramic coat your pipes you will get the desired results. Ceramic coating traps the heat in the pipe and lowers outside temperatures.
