Damn good thing your Okay! If Ida been there, I think I woulda given the cop a little side grin and said, "Dude, can I legally slap this guy for that!"
But that just the way I roll!
Speaking of.......!
First of all I'm glad you didn't get hurt.
Second, it sounds to me like you didn't see the car 1 car in front of you coming to a stop. You've got to watch much farther down the road than just the car right in front of you.
From what you are saying, a car 1 car ahead of you stops. The car directly in front of you hits it. You clip the car in front of you.
Sounds to me like you were following too close or going too fast or not paying attention to traffic ahead and not looking far enough ahead of yourself? Only you can prevent rear end collisions, not the guy in front of you.
Again, I'm glad you didn't get hurt.
Went down today in Springfield, ohio. Cager in front of me didn't see car in front of her stop for a trash can on side of the road. She hit him then hit her brakes. I locked up the brakes and went to the right .Highway peg caught left corner and made a light scrape. I fell over scraping the windshieldwhen it went down. The cop gave her a ticket and said Ididn"t get one. The womans husband got there and raised hell with the cop for not giving me a ticket. I happens so fast .I heard the sound of the hit ,then brake lights. Be safe guys.

I agree. I see this way too many times. Bikers following too close and not giving themself a way out when the crap hits the fan. Then it's the cars fault. I'm glad nobody got seriously hurt but situations like this are stupid and can be avoided. I never could understand what the excitement is all about by riding so close to a 4 wheeler. This may sound harsh...but riding that close to a cager is just plain stupid.
I would of also given her a ticket.... The Husband new if he could get the officer to give you one. Then, he could fight it with their insurance to blame you.... Good to know that you were alright....

Never really thought about it, but when you look over in the other lane and see
3,5 or more cars that have rearend each other. Do EACH and ever car get a
following too close ticket. Like someone said hit a car in the rear and you bought
it. Unless maybe they had no brake lightts...One can not drive to far ahead in a
scoot. But in a motorhome or a RAM truck I drive as far ahead as I can see.
My grandson has a Honda Civic and I have to look up to read a bumper sticker
on the truck in front of us. Not at all a comforting position. But you did excape
a bullet for sure, as it couold have been alot worse.....
I drive like ever cager out there is mentally someplace else. Fourty yrs. ago a
guy in a Scout 4X4 made eye contact with me driving down Valley st. in Abingdon
Va. pulled out and stopped. I could see my right leg wrapped around his steel
bumper. But I layed it down and slid into the oncoming lane. Lucky no one was
coming at that time........Tenn.Vol.
