Looking for suggestions on why my bike is scraping on my back fender everytime i hit even the smallest bump? I can even feel a tug when the tire hits!
Had my bike lowered only one inch, and when i went to pick it up at the shop they told me it was scraping and they were not sure how to fix the problem? They said they tried adjusting the air in the shocks, but with no success? I was told that i may need a different tire?
Any ideas as to what i can do? I have seen bikes much lower than mine on the roads...
After I had mine lowered the shop did not put any air back in the shocks... I would check that yourself first! There should absolutly be no reason for it to be scrapping, rubbing, etc if you only lowered it 1 inch! If its not the shocks then I would bet it is an install error!
If you have the two or three position lowering kits, you may have it in the wrong position. If your bike had a previous owner, the shocks may be too short. Check your tire for rips where it is rubbing in the fender. Check up in your fender to see if any damage has been done to the rear tail light harness.
Check position of the lowering device. Check shock length. If bought used see if the tire is oversize from original. I used some lowering block from dennis kirk, I think it was pingel brand, supposed to lower 1 inch. I have not had any problems scrubbing. Running 9psi single rider, 30psi 2 up.
