Default Pros / Cons Lowering Blocks

I am thinking of lowering my FLHR 1" in the rear. Looking at the Road 6 lowering blocks for $35. Any good? Judging what people say about getting a used set of shocks off a SG comprimises the comfort I have now. Will these make it ride stiffer also? Thanks everybody!!
Edit, I almost always ride solo.

Using 1" lowering block lowers the bump stops in your shocks by 1" in relation to the top of the tire. But if you use a 12" streetglide shock without lowering blocks, the bump stops are in the same spot as the 13's so your shocks will bottom out before the fender can bottom out on the tire. If you ride 1 up most of the time you won't usually have a problem bottoming on the tire with the blocks, but 2 up is a different story. A good precaution if you are going to use the blocks is to make sure your wiring harness to the rear brake light is moved to the side of the fender. Had a buddy bottom out on his tire while using the lowering blocks and he ripped the wiring harness right off. Was a PTA cuz he was a long way from home.

I say don't do it!

I have them, and to compinstae for the bottoming out on the fender I have to run more air. That equates to a harsher ride. Also, the bottom of the shock is further back, which changes the angle, and they don't work as well.

I have a set of 12" Street Glide shocks waiting for me at a buddies house, and I'll get them when he gets back into town. Ironically, I sold them to him in'08 and I bought my Electrglide in '10. (doah!)

Thanks guys, good info. We can officially kill this question and end the responses, it's not going to happen with me.

So you guys are saying that I can use a set of factory street glide shock and it will lower my ultra classic 1”?

I had 2 inch drop blocks on the rear and 1 inch shorter springs on the front of a 2014 SGS. Ran stock 12 inch coil shocks. Never had the fender contact the rear wheel. not plush though
