Nice work. Been planning on swapping out the chrome ones on my SG for something a little darker.

How did you decide on placement?

I put mine a little lower on the tank than I think you put yours though. I put mine right on the dividing pin stripe between the two colors.
Got any pictures?

I tried to put them pretty much where the old ones were since they were fairly centered on the tank. I also used normal visuals to see where they would look good. I spent most of the install time positioning, measuring, re-positioning, re-measuring, etc. until I got them just right

I got them at my local Harley dealer. I'm at work right now so I don't have the part numbers handy, but when I get home later, I will grab the box from the garage and post the part numbers up. This is a 2 piece emblem, it has a metal backing plate that sticks on the tank and the outside piece is screwed onto the backing plate.

Thanks again for all the comments

I once had a Harley that had those on from the factory. I bought it new in 1961

Harley dealer, Harley part number, will post them up later. I want to say they were around $50-$75? I'm not sure what I did with the invoice.

You did a great job positioning them too......
Your next step - flexible pipe for the exhaust. With your nostalgic air filter cover, your on your way to replicating the old FL's of the 60's.
Thanks! That is pretty much the look I'm going for. I need to put the solo seat back on and take some pics out in the sunlight

Thanks! Not sure if they will fit the 6 gallon tanks, but the instructions say they fit "fat bob" style tanks, so I would assume they would fit. These emblems have a slight curvature to them so they hug the tank pretty good. If your dealer has any in stock, they may let you check them against your tank.
