help - too much tire pressure question

Default help - too much tire pressure question
we are going for our first ride of the season today. i got to excited (not paying attention) with the compressor and accidentally put in about 120 psi in the front tire. backed it off right away, but am i at risk - did i compromise the tire in an way. i'm not a freak about this stuff, i just am conscious about safety.

I doubt you hurt the tire. Check your bead all the way around on both sides to make sure they are even.

You're lucky & fortunate that the tire didn't blow up in your face,I would think if you let the pressure out right a way that it should be OK, but I'm not a tire professional so hopefully someone else can give a educated answer. How in the world did you get that much in them in the first place, did you have a locking tire chuck? This could have been a deadly situation!

was fiddling witnh thw chuck and didnt think i was getting air in. by the time i realized i had it... it was too late.

If it caused any damage at that pressure you would already be telling us about your 90mph skid marks in your tighty whities from the explosion.

I hear if you let some air out you be OK. {36 to 38 front 38 to 42 rear} If It didn't pop.

i ran 40 front , 42 rear. 2up. seemed ok.
