Running an Arc Audio 125.1 amp with the new J&M 7.25" speaker, but the stock HK head unit. Happy with the set-up, but the head unit leaves a lot to be desired. I'll likely look into some of the ones mentioned in this thread.

I put in a pair of J&M 7.25 speakers and have an Elf 2125X amp. Is it possible to slide a power line from the battery, thru the black tubing either side of the frame, to the amp or do I have to remove the battery to do this?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Ho Phil

I ran the Red wire from the amp underneath the tank in the stock plastic wire housing to the battery and the ground to the ground on the right side of the frame neck. I used the orange wire from the headlight for the "switch" wire. I used 10gauge - I really couldn't hide it anywhere except there.

Definately get rid of the HK and go with a good aftermarket head unit. The stock unit produces and extreme amount of distortion past half volume and that is why you cannot get a great sound out of them. Even with an amp you will still run into this unless you keep your radio under 1/2. Most people won't realize this because they are not looking for great audio but would rather just volume but for me I want the best I can get in an open air situation. When you pick your head unit get at least 4v preouts and look for a low THD% and you will be very happy. This is just my 2cents worth.
