Default oil pressure question

Guys, yesterday I installed an oil pressure gauge
on my '99 RKC.
At idle no pressure at all, and at 40 mph in 3rd gear
pressure was around 5 - 7 psi
Are these normal readings ?

Thanks for your help.

Peter (Netherlands)

On my 05 Ultra I see 40-45 psi at cruise speed and about 25 psi at idle...

Sounds low. Owners manual on the 06s says normal is 5 lbs. at idle and 30-38 at 2000 rpm when warm.

sounds like your pressure relief valve is stuck. Is the motor clattering??

Motor is not clattering.
Don't no what happened, but when I started the bike today
(cold engine) pressure was around 40 psi
After warming up pressure at idle around 15 psi and during
the ride at appprox. 40 mph pressure was around 35 - 40 psi
Guess there were still some airbubbles in the new oil line
Thanks for your help guys !

Ride Safe,
Peter
