I new at this, I appoligize for so many questions. I noticed today while riding my oil pressure falls to zero at idle and then goes to about 30-32 psi while riding. Is this normal?
Yup normal. It isn't zero though. Probably running about 5 psi or so hot at idle . Just make sure you know how to check the levels of all your fluids. Then get in habit of doing so here and there.
When I got my 11 RGU it did the same thing. Dealer replace the oil pressure sending unit. Oil pressure runs about 10 # at idle hot, about 32# while riding. As long as you don't hear a lot of clattering at an idle I would suspect the sending unit.
Factory Oil pressure gauges are pretty inaccurate also, mine runs about 8-10psi at idle and 35-38 running (Estimate by the gauge). 2011 Street Glide with 103.
