I found all 3 of the rear subassembly bolts on the left side were loose today. They were probably never tightened at the factory. kinda scary, but not sure what could happen. The other side was fine.
Any chance you could be more specific or maybe post up a couple of pics? Makes me want to check my 09 but want to know exactly where you found yours. I'm not totally understanding the "sub-assembly" part.

I'm at work so can't post a pic right now but its the assembly that is right under the seat. It triangulates the fuse box and holds the rubber plugs the side covers snap into.

Poor description I know, sorry. I'll try to post something later.

It's great to read posts from riders that actually check their bikes over and/or do their own maintenance. Not getting on a soap box here but it sure seems there's too many ready to blame anybody else for their own negligence. I'm probably a bit cynical but after racing for so many years it's hard trust anybody but myself to make sure my bike is road ready.

[QUOTE=DTTJGlide;6448498]The dealer should have caught it when they uncrated it, that what they're supposed to do QUOTE]

+1 where you buy also makes a BIG difference, and of course you checking it all your self is the most important factor here.

So now I'm checking all critical hardware.
Just wondering how many miles are on you bike.

only 1,700 miles. Bought it at the end of summer last year.

the bolts were about 1/4" from being fully seated. I only caught it becasue the washers rattled when I pulled the side cover.
