yeah there are less options for the wide white wall tires. I had new rubber put on last month before a ride down to the tail of the dragon. They messed up and sold my tires to someone else so I left the dealer with a white wall on the front and blackwall on the back. I figured it's not a big deal when I'm going through tires every 6 months anyways. Then Wednesday on the morning commute I get a piece of rebar stuck in my back tire....POOF! .....So looks like I'll be getting a white wall on the back after all....at my cost of course. bummer.
I've got 8000 on my 2010 flhx and just started to get a wobble that flelt like it was in the front end but only when cornering left. Checked pressure today and both tires were good. No cupping on the front but the rear was but only on the left side. Hope I can get the rear tire replaced under warranty.
I never got a letter on 407 front tire. I knew about it though and they checked tire at 5k miles with tire gauge said it was ok. I had them check it again and they replaced it at 10k with 408 free of charge. I never noticed any issues with 407 but it was nice getting new front tire
my rear tire is cupped as well at 12k. plenty of tread left but cupping is terrible .just wanted to subscribe to the thread to see if anyone has any luck with warranty
I was just curious as to how many people in here with a 2009 touring model that had tire issues? After looking at the HD service bulletin from Nov 2009, it states that customers with 09 touring models will receive a letter in the mail informing them to bring their bike to the dealer so they can check the front tire issue. Has anyone received the letter? I didnt. I did receive the recall on the fuel tank however, but not the tire.
I never received a letter, but they are replacing my bulging front tire under warranty. Not a 2009, but a 2010....

The tire problem was with the D407s on the 209 touring bikes. The replacements were D408s. Are you saying that your D408 had a bulge in the sidewall? Has anyone had problems with their D408s?

I did not receive a letter in the mail informing them to bring their bike to the dealer so they can check the front tire issue. I took it in to the Dealer and they charged me $80 for the labor.
I received the tank recall and had that taken care of but nothing in writing from Harley about the tire. My dealer did warranty the front tire on my bike at about 14k miles and I've not had any other issues with it to date.
