Also, if you compare the dimensional info for both, they are slightly different. Don't know about J&M's new 125W X 2 amp; whether it's an ARC clone or near clone or not. The Arc is listed as a class H amp; the J&M as class G. Don't know the particulars; checked the classifications via Wiki and lost interest after about 10 minutes of reading.

PS: Subsequent poster reminded me of the "Wet Sounds" ARC clone with modification.

How many variances are there of the Arc amp? J&M, Elf arc...all the same manufacture with different branding?
There's at least four Arc Audio, Elf Audio, Wet Sounds & J&M. These amps were all designed in the USA by legendary car amp designer Robert Zeff/ Nikola Engineering design house. The build house is a Taiwan Exporter Ubuy Industrial Corp(China manufacturer). Although all very similar to the Arc Audio amp the Elf Audio amp has slightly different internal component parts and this is seen in documented amp teardowns. These internal parts difference could explain cost variations between amps etc. The Wet Sounds has a marine grade epoxy coated printed circuit boards also which is different from rest. The Arc Audio KS125.2 mini amp was first and released in Feb 08.
I have been reading thisost and there is a lot of info here. SO my question is what do you think my best option is for better sound with my stock head unit which is older and still has the tape deck. Hogtunes speakers and a elf amp or the J&M speakers(7.25?) and a elf Amp?

I would say 6.5" minimum with the amp and at least 70watts RMS each..You will get actual bass from this set-up..I am sure with the 7.25" it would be really good. I have ELF 6.5" coax speakers - they are rated pretty good spec wise & I get some nice bass from them with the ELF amp.
Gotcha; forgot about JMJOHN saying in that thread:
"as for where these amps are made ,,, and I will be totally honest here, the amp itself is made in the same factory in China that makes the Arc Audio Mini amp, so obviously the designs are similar ,,,"
