It doesn't even have to be a harley Barrell key. I tried a key that came with a safe I bought at Walmart and it would unlock it.

Another vote for the button. Installed mine before I left the dealership in '06, an' haven't regretted it but once when a buddy couldn't get his unlocked (forgot the key) an' I let him sweat for a coupla minutes before using my key to unlock it for him....

Thanks all. Stopped at Columbia HD yesterday on the way to the swap meet at Shelbyville and picked on up. While it's raining today that will be one of my projects....

liked the lock , more worried about somebody puting something in my tank but never thought about the lock messing up and not being able to open it , I think a button will go in next week

No the lock on the safe works......and I misspoke I bought the safe at Lowes.

Another vote for the push button. You can fuel and go much faster when at the pump.

push buttom it is,that way the rest of your keys won't do no scratching.

Got the push button and installed it last night. Rode to work this morning. No rattle and I love it - not having to fool with the keys when I gas up. Great idea guys. Thanks!
