Is there a knack to getting the small connectors out (and back in) of the block that is in the headlight bucket. I have lifted the little flap that hides the terminals but try as I might they will not come out and I don't want to just use brute force and ignorance and damage the connectors.

use a small screwdriver to bend the tads of the connectors back and they should pull out
