I am trying to take the electrical harness out of the headlight casing. I am new to this and it may sound really stupid but please help. Oh yah its a 09mnightster
First of all, try to be a little more specific with your subject line- the title of your post. This is a technical forum, everyone is here to get some help. So wording like "please help" is just annoying.
Secondly, you need to be really specific in your post. What part of getting the wires out of theheadlight bucket is giving you fits?
But lastly, and this is the most important part, if you had a manual you'd know how to get the wires out of your headlight busket.
You have to cut the wires then re-solder them together. Don't forget to take your time and use heat shrink tubing.
No you don't!
Remove the headlight.
unplug the bulb.
Using a sharp object detach the individual wire connectors from the harness.
Pull the rubber plug from the back of the housing (from the inside)
Slide plug toward the connector, it will come off the outer insulation, but you must remove the tape first.
Using soapy water slide one wire at a time out of the plug.the wires will come out of the housing now.
To install just reverse the process. When trying to slide the plug back to it's original point, you must put tape back on where you removed it.
OK, well I have had trouble with breaking those type of connectors. And I trust my soldering skills enough to do a simple task. And your way seems more time consuming and complicated.
