I wouldn't consider sitting on a bike and rocking it upright "lifting". I have had a bad back for 20 years and the doctors want to do a laminectomy. Riding makes my back feel better. You don't say what part of you had surgery but if it isn't a leg, hand or arm I'd ride if I were you.

I'm in a similar situation from a snow mobile accident 7 weeks ago. Now with Spring here and many weeks to go until I'm good enough to ride, I **** everyone off by saying I hope it rains until I heal. What can I say, I'm selfish.
Hope you heal quickly, just don't ride by me while I'm still crippled.
I had knee surgery March 3rd for a torn meniscus (whatever that is) from a crash last year. Don't tell my surgeon, but in less than a week I was out riding with a brace on my knee. Little shaky but it felt good. I rode last weekend 2-up for 500 miles and I'll be out all day again tomorrow. Back to work in a week...between the physical therapy and Harley therapy I'm going back 3 weeks earlier than expected.

That would be me but I have no better sense.... Actually I need surgery on my back and knee but in the meantime braces help.
