Default amsoil and warranty

I took my 06 r/k in to the stealer today to get the new 25 degree injectors. I noticed that on the counter there was a sign. The sign said "Please let us know if your useing syn. oil in you bike before any service". I told the guy that was had amsoil in all three holes. He looks at me and says "you don't like your warranty do you"? He tells me that harley will not cover your warr. with amsoil in the bike. He then says he has never worked on a bike that did not leak after useing amsoil and stressed everyone of them leaked. He said harley won't cover anything, not even a blown engine. I told him that I have used amsiol in my harleys since 1996 and have not had any of the three leak!!. He tried to talk me into harley syn. I told him I would take my chances. I like amsoil and I know there are a lot of other good brands out there but has anyone ever heard of this warr. thing or is he blowin smoke?.....

he's blowin' smoke.....Your dealer is an idiot. Never had any leaks in my bikes either. If the oil meets or exceeds the the manufacturers specs, you can use whaever the f*#k you want and they have to honor the warranty. BTW, I use Amsoil too. But any synthectic w/o friction (so the clutch won't slip) modifiers will do. I use Amsoil 'cause it says "wet clutch compatable" right on the bottle

I was out looking for some Mobil 1 v-twin, sopped at an HD stealer and asked if they may carry it? He told me they did not and asked why I wanted to use it......told him that I liked it better than HD syn. He told me that a friend of his brought his bike in with a seized motor.......he'd been using HD syn and then decieded to try Mobil 1 20/50, rode about 100 miles and the engine locked. So, I asked him if he had used the v-twin or, the car stuff...he did not answer. I just changed HC sporty oil for the third time using Mobil 1.....the first change was with HD syn, the motor is smoother and quieter. I have used Mobil in my bike the past two changes and found the same result and took away a breather leak that I had been dealing with. Just put Mobil in the other two holes for the first time tonight, will see how that goes. Will use Amsoil or, Mobil forever more, Mobil is just easy to find here for 7.99 a quart and the specs on both oils are pretty much the same.

he is doing more than blowing smoke. He is flat out lying or completely uninformed. I use to be the warranty administrator for an HD dealership and it is simply not so. My own bike has been on Amsoil for the past 25,000 miles and no problem. I also had and continue to have no problem with warranty work even the extended warranty for any problem. Syn 3 is an inferior product. It will not begin to perform with Amsoil, Mobil1 v-twin or red line or royal purple or almosy anything else. there are even reports that show that hd 360 dino out performs syn 3.

I get so sick of Dumb A$$ counter clerks talking out of their 2nd hole. Harley Syn 3 is nothing but Conoco Oil that has been repackaged. Conoco provided the lowest bid by all the oil companies. There is nothing in Harley's Warranty that says Harley Oil must be used. I believe it is against Federal Law for them to require it. I'm heading to my dealer this week for my 1000 mile service. After that I will be doing all my own like I did with my 03. I will be ordering Amsoil by the case for it. I believe Amsoil has something on their Web Page which talks about their Harley Oil and how it is superior to anything. Test results too. I ride Waverunners too. Yamaha pulled that stunt with Yamalube. I did some checking on that. Yamalube is nothing but Valvoline 2 cycle oil. Valvoline is 1.99 per qt while Yamalube is 4.99 or more. There is no difference. There are only a few oil producers, but lots of brands. Here is an Amsoil link. I had some time tonight so I did some reading. There is an excellent study on V-Twin Oils here. I used Mobil Syn on my last bike, but I think I will switch to Amsoil.

He is truely full of s*%(!! I am having an issue with my 07 tranny that I posted and yesterday at the dealer they put amsoil in the tranny. Why? Because they called HD and that is what they were told to do by HD. No way would they knowingly void my warranty.

Check out this link, the story just happened to be on the local news here in Tampa the other night and I thought about all of the BS HDnon-warrenty posts in here. I am sure that most any state would have the same types of lwas on the books. Maybe we should print our local law regarding the issue and drop that off with our bikes on the next service. Pay special attention to 2 things; any consumer product and cannot require a particular brand, if it meets the spec or service interval it's good.

Id print out the law on the internet, and go back to the dealer and ask for a manager and let them know just what kind of idiot they have working for them.
