'89 Electra Glide header pipes flange removed

Hi. I have noticed that on the header pipes on my '89 Electra Glide Classic that someone has removed the flange to allow fitting of '95 on mufflers. Was wondering, can i still fit pre '95 mufflers to the pipes, or do i have to fit '95 on? Cheers all. Gee.

No, if the flanges are gone you can only fit newer style mufflers. Very common practice nowadays. The selection of newer style mufflers is huge, you should be able to find something you like.

Thanks mate. Was gonna buy '89-'95 fishtails recently untill i noticed the flanges gone. Good job i didn't!! Cheers again. Gee.

I did the fix on my '93 ultra, but the left side muffler would slide off the pipe every now and then. It seems they give you just enough to get it connected so be sure it is tight.,,
