Default What does this do?

I had to remove this to run some wires from the seat area to the front end. Then reinstalling it was a pain,,,,,is there a need for it? If not, you can have mine, all you have to do is pay for shipping

Might get a better and more accurate answer but thought about that thing also. to the best of my thinking, could it be used to sort of hold the wires in that certain area from flopping in diff places?

It's more than likly an engineers answer to a chaffing problem.

There was a recall for the 07 model year. a plastic bracket similar to that to keep the battery from moving and shorting out.

this part is underneath the seat next to the fuel tank

I was wondering the same thing. I took it off when I pulled the tank, and put it back the same place I found it, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it's for.

I'm a firm believer of putting chit back together the same way it came apart.
Short cuts, leaving parts off, something just ain't right about that.
