I just got my parts in and am planning to change old HD style front fork set up to the Progressive Monotube set up. Reading in the manual is not clear..Does the entire fairing need to come off or just the outer piece and the cover under the ignition switch. Manual kinda questionable.

You only need to remove the ignition switch and console, the outer fairing can technically stay put.

I think you mean inside stays in place..I think anyways. As the pinch bolts are behind that part..Correct..???..Has anyone done this task and if so any tricks to help things along.
