Remove hard bag guard?

Default Remove hard bag guard?
I have a Road King and I've seen some Road Glides, Street Glides and some Road Kings not have the chrome hard bag guard. Is there an alternative part I can replace this so that it doesn't have that guard?

That guard will save the bag in a light drop. Just saying. You can put comfort profile guards on that slant down.

No, at least on the 09/10 you have to buy the rail used on the SG and RG. None of the parts are interchangable.

Do you have a picture of what your talking about? The ones I've seen before I see the guard only at the bottom and nothing in front of the bag.

I did this to my 09 s/g had to modify the rear filler strips...

Well you can replace the guard and bag support with this (on 2009-2010)

Saddlebag Support Kit

Eliminate the rear saddlebag guard for a sleek, custom appearance. This kit replaces the loop saddlebag guard with a bolt-on chrome-plated support leg. Kit includes all necessary mounting hardware.

90881-09A


Fits '09-later Touring models (except FLHRC, FLHTCUSE4/5 and Trike). Stock on '09-later FLHX, FLHXSE, FLTR, FLTRX and FLTRSE models. Does not fit with Saddlebag Filler Strip Kits.

Yea, that's what I'm looking for, but my RK is an 02. I wonder what's different from the 09 that I can make that work?

Just buy the 46565-04 that is made for your year bike

I put some Chilowee leather covers on mine. I think it looks great and makes the guard disappear. Cheap mod and still have the bag protection.

Yes, they are different. No, they will not fit your bike. Any "-09" bag part will not fit your bike. The Bag Mounts and rails changed in 2009 when Harley changed the frame.
