Have an 06 Ultra with the Biketronics Stereo 400w amp...have had zero issues with it for the past 2 years. I fired the bike up 2 weeks ago stereo working but unable to adjust volume or change channels by way of handlebar controls, I pulled the fairing checked all connections and grounds...all good, pulled the fuse box and checked all the fuses...all good...but here's the the clincher...after checking fuses I had control of the stereo at the bar controls with the bike running...buttoned everything up and hit the road...NO HANDLEBAR CONTROLS WTF?? Anyone have a clue to this problem??
Did you unplug the retro-radio con. and reseat it.Thinking it might just be a high resistant pin in the plug coupler. If neither controls work on your handle bars thats where I'd look.If only one of the controls doesn't work it might be that button.I'd call Biketronics if that doesn't help. They'd probably have an idea or 2.Intermittent elec. problems are a pain.

Sorry Spence should have read your thread better. Is it the HK radio with the amp or aftermarket with the retro radio kit? Id still think it's in the plug conn. if neither control works.
Spence,
Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. Pull the fuse to reset the Biketronics adapter and good to go for a while and then it'd happen again. Asked Biketronics to replace the adapter and no trouble since. Don't forget that their stuff is guaranteed forever.

Thanks Geoff....What fuse are you referring to? the one at the stereo or down in the fuse box?

Hope you find the bug.I installed the Retro-radio this winter so would be interestd to know what you found. The people at Biketronics are great talk to if you run into a brickwall.Like Geoff say's their stuff is warrantied for life if it is their gear.
Called Mike at Biketronics....he asked if I changed battery or disconnected the battery this winter....I did, was advised to disconnect 1 lead to the battery and let it set for 10 minutes....Problem resolved...by disconnecting the battery the system somehow resets itself...hope this can help someone in the future....thanks for the replies guys!
