Anyone ever seen a shield that covers the stator from dirt and rocks hitting it. I want to remove the front fender and have seen these but not lately. Any ideas?

You must be hitting big *** rocks, your "stator" is inside the primary.....Are you possibly talking about the voltage regulator?

yeah, creaky 1 the stator is inside of your primary cover. i'm also thinking you're talking about the finned for cooling block which would be your voltage regulator.

Yes your right, it is the Voltage Regulator (durn new guys anyway) . I have seen a few shields that go over this for protection and am looking to buy one.

I think maybe a chin spoiler is what you mean? Otherwise HD makes some chrome covers.The regulators are actually pretty tough, I would be more concerned about the filter,...and my face LOL remember it needs air, they get hot.
