I use the flash-2-pass. it works great and is much cheaper than the hd unit. Sometimes it takes a few tries for it to work. Maybe just like the earlier comment. Signal might be a little weak. But I cant complain much easier than having anything hanging from my bike or fumbling for the remote.
I have the HD one and one of the best mods I made to the bike. Can't beat rolling up the driveway and flicking the hi/low beam switch and have the garage door open. Have had it for 4 years and no problems.
Being a cheap-a$$, I used the spare opener, wired it to a moment switch (HD odometer reset switch) and velcro'd it to the top of the radio. Hid the moment switch down low in the fairing. Works fine also, but I do have to put a battery in every couple of years, but no big deal.
I took my spare one and used velcro to secure it behind my lower inner fairing.
While riding up to my house I reach down with my left hand up under the lower fairing cover and push the button.
Used xtreme hold velcro never fallen out and easy to change battery.
Surprisingly plenty of room under there because my spare remote isnt as small as others!
