I've done plenty of both. I prefer hotels if I'm on the road going to the next destination every day, but if I'm going to be somewhere for a while, I really enjoy the camping thing. Like Sturgis. It's nice to just set up camp, do your thing, and then roll back to camp. It can be a pain (the older I get the more I notice) setting up and taking down camp every day.

I enjoy the camping and even the cabin deals. Or like the inexpensive places like deals gap motel was $50 a night i believe.

this year its going to be camping or cheap cabin if iam buy myself and when me an my son take a long weekend run thru PA.

When i go on a road trip with my dad and uncle we all split the cost of cheap hotel/motel then its just as cheap as camping.

Either works for me, but after riding all day through the scorching heat, there is nothing like a room with air conditioning and a comfortable bed.

My wife and I were touring in Canada on our Harley a few years ago and stayed in a guest house one night. It was the day after Labor Day. They were on honeymoon and had camped a couple of nights. The camp site almost emptied during Labor Day, so there not many tents left that night. After a bear visited them the new wife insisted on something more substantial than a tent to sleep under! Sounds good enough to me....
