ditto. Except I use a chamois cloth cuz I aint's got me no blower. I also have to cover my open air cleaner with a bag. Other than that I suds it up and rinse it off with light water pressure
If you take it to a car wash.........and it IS a good place to go if you've ridden many miles in the rain......keep the blast of water off the voltage regulator and switches. At home I use Bike Brite and a microfiber cloth. Leaf blower is fast to dry, then go for a ride.....gets the rest. Don't forget the frame and under the engine and tranny. Every so often I'll remove the seat and the side covers and clean those areas with a damp fake chamois.
I use Bike Bright and the Mr. Clean auto dry, works like a charm. I'd also suggest that you remove the saddlebags to get all the brake dust and grime off the rear wheel. Nothing worse for the finish on wheels than brake dust.
Don't be scared to get a little water on the speakers and/or the radio. They may not be waterproof but they sure are water resistant. Never had a problem with mine, and I got caught in a major downpour about a month ago.
I just take the hose to it,but I avoid drowning the inner fairing area.I also remove the hard bags so I can wash behind them.I wash the bags on the lawn. The seat comes off too.Towel dry in shade. My water is so hard I think a blower would leave spots.
