Add a new pulley? I'm interested. I have a freind, 2 of them, who have installed the Rev Tech 6 speeds, and they're both really happy w/ them, and they're cheap too. I'm not a big fan of Rev Tech, just sayin. I'd love a 6 speed, but can't afford it at the time. I've done 13+ hr. days on the highway, and get by w/ a 5. Like to have that 6 though. Baker's just too much $.

Purchased an Ultima 6 sp OD transmission in the softtail trans case, removed the gear set, gave the case to a friend, and installed the gear set in my 2000 FLHTPI stock 88ci twin cam trans case. Yes, it fits. I could have purchased just the ULtima builders gear set for a bit less without the case, but by spending a little more to get the entire transmission, I got a 2 year 20K mile waranty on it. The little extra was worth having the warranty in my opinion, since I lacked complete confidence in the Ultima. Couldn't spend the big bucks on a Baker. If money wasn't an issue, I would have bought the Baker 6 sp gear set.
Has anyone ever installed their own gear set?How long did it take to install?I asked a service guy at the dealer and he THOUGHT it was around 8 hours.I was figuring half that.Did anyone go with the 3.24 1st gear vs. the 2.94.I would like that stronger 1st gear.Do they give you a different comp sprocket to achieve that 3.24 ?

You say the ultima gear set will fit in a stock tour case. I would like to know what the difference is in the 5 speed and the newer 6 speed case.Is the case bigger could you die grind it out to get the gears to fit or is it totally different.I was told you could chage the whole case from a newer 07 to 09 and it would bolt right onto my motor?? nobody has any proper info on this.
The SE 6 spd gear set for the twin cam 88 is made by JIMS. It is an excellent product and worth the 2 grand. I got my HOG membership deal of 25% off of course. I installed it myself. I would not hesitate to put another one in.
PS...This is just my opinion.....DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON ANY EBAY DEAL IN REGARDS TO THIS TYPE OF MECHANICAL PART. YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED.

Sorry I cannot give you a definitive answer to that question. But I do have an Ultima 6 sp OD gear set in my 2000 TC88 touring bike. I no longer have the soft tail Ultima tranny case that housed the gear set when purchased because I gave the new case away to a friend as soon as it arrived.
