Hello all-
don't post much here but search the site often for useful info, of which there is plenty. Thanks to all that keep me learning!
Just noticied that below the steering neck on the down tube of my frame that the powder coating is starting to flake off. Small now, but will probably just get worse over time.
Wondering if anyone knows of any trick to prevent this from becoming a full blown problem. It is really not very noticible now, and if I can stop it from becoming worse I can certainly live with it. If it continues I am gonna be severly bummed.
I was thinking maybe some kind of paint, clear coat, light coating of clear silicone?
I think HD is painting the frames and not pcoating them,Kuryakyn makes some covers for the neck and tubes if it becomes an eye sore
if u have the time a quick coat of gloss black and rust-o-leum clear coat should fix you up.Get a (2)fine grit sanding block (the ones that actually look like a sponge, start with the rougher of the two then finish with the other.Try and get the area as smooth as possible, clean good and paint it
