Ok, is our stock exhaust on the FLHX stainless steel? If it is, here is my idea.
I watched a stock head pipe without the CAT, also it had a V&H slip on with it. I missed it for 200.00, dang it. Anyway while messaging the seller in CA he said that it was easy to clean out. He suggested something I never thought of, (Why is it the OBVIOUS is the last to come to mind sometimes? ROTFLMAO)
He said, if you cut the pipe the dig out the CAT then it is easy to align back in place. (Heck, I am going to take some sort of marker, or junk yard paint and draw a line across where I am cutting to help align it) He suggested taking it to a muffler shop to reweld it. They deal with stainless all the time. (I have a wire welder, and a "Stick" welder, but can't do stainless with either one)
So, I am going to take mine off one of these weekends soon, gut it and get it welded back up!
I just got the same bike, it has 200 miles on it. Had the dealer install the stage II Big Bore kit. Its already back in the shop. It overheated the other night. Thinking its the programmer they used. Good looking bikes!
I am going to have a FulSac head pipe for a 2010 Ultra for sale as soon as my Power Duals arrive if interestred. I was afraid to carve up my stock pipe in case the EPA decided to do something more in the way of testing.
I would assume the Ultra pipe 2-1 will fit the SG?
The only thing I see about a 2-1 on their website is the video burn out where he says "This is our 2-1 prototype,"
Do you have any pictures of your pipe?
I MAY be interested in that. I am NOT too worried about the "Future" on bikes and emissions right now really though.
