Not real familiar with Windows 7 & IE8 yet. I would try adding HDForums website address into the "trusted sites" in the Internet Options. Could possibly under the Privacy tab, specifically add the HDForums website to Allow cookies to be stored on your computer.

Hope you get it figured out, but honestly Firefox is the better choice. Been using Firefox for a few years now.

 

I've had the same problem with my office computer switched to firefox and no more problems but haven't had problems getting on using IE from my home computer...Hmmmm. I kind of like this firefox better anyway.
