Default Dyno Tune and Carb bikes

Looking for some advise on Dyno tuning my Carbed 02 FLHT. When I first bought the bike it had a set of Boom Can slip on muffler and ran great. After dragging them on ever sharp turn I swapped them out for a set of wild pig slip ons. I noticed my MPG drop to 38 from 45 and I feel a few flat spots in the throttle during hard take offs. Is it worth the money to have it put on a dyno for tuning. I can live with the 38 MPG since I have done a search and see that there are a lot of bikes out there getting those kind of numbers. But it is the feeling that something just is not right.

I had a 96 Road King carbed and changed the air cleaner then added wild pigs - experienced the same thing. I went to Nightriders site and did some reading on rejetting the carbs and followed the advice there changing the slow jet, adjustments and main jet as described. It really helped. Then at MB Bike week I have Dr Dyno run the bike on his Dyno. He slightly changed the timing but it was right one. I may be able to find what I changed but Nightriders tuning info is very helpful.

Dyno Tune may be good with a Tuner with intensive Carb knowledge .. 38 MPG ain't bad for a FLHT .. Was all I got on my 2008 FLHT with a Precision Tune with Stage 1 & PCIII ..

Rode about 300 miles Saturday. I rode with a group of friends and was running out in front of them for a short time. We stopped for fuel and another rider said it smelled like the bike was running rich. I pulled the plugs today expecting them to be black with fuel. They were both pure white.
I found a dyno shop in my home town that worked for the stealer for 15 years. Going to be making an appointment in the morning. My average MPG was 36 riding solo between 55 - 75. I left out that it has a stage 1 kit. Hopefully some fine tuning will get it back to how it was when I bought it.

+1 on a dyno tuner with intensive carb knowledge. A good carb tuner (old school) with intensive knowledge of a good eddy current, load control dyno (new school) is a rare combination. Grey hair around the edges is the first prerequisite.
